One of our treasured Friends of St Margaret outreach programs is the PeaceTree Outreach. This program was created to bring peace to families of the incarcerated during the Christmas Season and embraces the love and devotion that St. Margaret of Scotland herself had for those in prison.
Working closely with the pastoral team at the East Coast Forensic Hospital in Dartmouth, the annual PeaceTree Outreach ensures that people are remembered at this special time of year. The pastoral team members for the hospital offered, “Many of our clients enjoyed the peanut brittle that someone had so kindly made and bagged. There are always some angles in the world that make someone’s day a little brighter. When kindness is shared – it touches others. Your PeaceTree Outreach definitely is a blessing and truly makes a difference.”
Many say we are truly making a difference by remembering those who are often forgotten by our society. As we honour this program each year, PeaceTree Outreach has become one of peace and love and like the roots of a tree, it touches lives beyond our vision.
